LES/Alphabet City
The lower East Side, or The LES was once home to tenements and industrious Immigrants but these days it's come alive with young designers, the ultimate in Vintage and the "freelancers" that make up the clientele. Orchard Street flourishes on Sundays, when the street is closed, vendors out, living up to the "Bargain District," its heavy-weight name. Along with a great bar scene, Ludlow Street boasts vintage galore and shops filled with unique and hard to find designers. These stores have a cultish following among the hard core hipsters straight off the L from Williamsburg. Pass the infamous Katz's deli and head to Avenue A & B to find more amazing consignment and smaller designers. Somewhere between CBGBs and Tompkins Square Park, Alphabet City acts as an oasis for stylish, edgy girls with something to say!
