Jennifer Ann Gilpin
Jennifer Ann Gilpin's collection was part of the IDEAL Showroom during Berlin Fashion Week (July 11-15).

Jennifer Ann Gilpin's current collection uses Conics to form the structure and foundation of each garment, creating the pattern, silhouette and shape. Her presentation at the IDEAL showroom during Fashion Week in Berlin was the first time showing the line internationally. "The response," Gilpin states, "was really fantastic and people were shocked and amazed to see a designer from Canada in their midst!"

Jason Sanchez (www.thesanchezbrothers.com) and Elena Willis (www.elenawillis.com) collaborated with Jennifer Ann Gilpin to photograph her Conics collection.

Kaviar Gauche
Kaviar Gauche presented their collection at the PREMIUM Showroom in Berlin as well as at the Karstadt New Generation Award Runway Show, where they won the Grand Prize.

Kaviar Gauche presented their new collection as part of the Karstad New Generation Award, a contest which pitted them against three other designers (Lala Berlin, Talkingmeanstrouble, and Macqua). Kaviar Gauche took home the prize with their winning collection of elegant and sober garments whose ruffles and scallops in shades of grey and cream wowed the judges. The flower-origami pleating on several of the pieces was especially noteworthy as was a grey "fish-scale" cocktail dress. They were awarded with the opportunity to design an exclusive collection for Karstadt which will be for sale in the Spring of 2008.

Lungta de Fancy from Tashi
Tashi presented its couture "Lungta de Fancy" SS07 collection at the IDEAL Showroom during Berlin Fashion Week (July 12-15, 2007).

From Official Press Release:
Lungta de Fancy is the couture range from Tashi. Inspired by retro chic blended with a dash of future fantasy, this collection is aimed at the ultra feminine woman. The collection makes use of traditional fabrics and tailoring techniques transformed by Tashi's unique use of form and fabric, creating a range that is as formal or casual as the occasion demands.

The Spring '07 collection features 46 daring and sensual garments designed to be worn in several ways. Hand-crafted in sumptuous fabrics with meticulous attention to detail, each garment can take up to 80 hours to make.

With clean lines, a neutral palette and tactile use of pleats, folds, woven and hand-knitted fabrics, the resulting silhouette of beautifully cut evening dresses create modern classics.

Editors note:
This was one of our favorite lines presented at the Berlin IDEAL Showroom. The collection came off as grown-up and meticulously worked.

Miroike
Miroike presented their Spring/Summer 08 collection at PPREMIUM Showroom in Berlin (July 13-15, 2007) and at the Becks Fashion Defilee held at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin (July 13, 2007).

Miroike's SS/08 collection was shown on the runway at the Becks Fashion Experience during Berlin Fashion Week. To the sound of classic pop songs interpreted by a classical trio, Miroike's models stalked the room wearing bug-eyed glasses and modeling truly creative garments. Like most collections presented during the Berlin Fashion Week, the overall look was that of a slouchy comfort. "Slouchy," however, does not equal messy: Miroike's pieces are carefully constructed visions of casualness. The insides of the garments reveal the truth: visionary darting makes for beautifully crafted clothing. Photos from the Becks Fashion Experience Runway Show (photos from www.modabot.de
